The subject of andropause is one of the biggest controversies in today's medical world. Doctor's have different thoughts on the matter of male menopause and cannot seem to come to a concrete definition or even agreement to its validity.
Since the 1940s, the term andropause has been used to describe a condition that was considered to be similar to the female menopause. The blame for triggering this condition was laid on falling levels of the testosterone hormone from around the age of 45 onwards.
Andropause was also considered to be the source of many problems faced by men past their prime, such as weight gain, heart disorders, mood swings, depression and plummeting libido.
Yet, many doctors doubt that andropause even exists. The main hurdle in the medical profession is the definition of andropause and the fact that there is no clear physical symptom that could be used to diagnose the condition.
Unlike women, men do not display any clear physical symptoms of a "change of life". As such is the case, the medical world is still polarized between the two camps that argue back and forth over this issue.
What is known and agreed upon however, is that there are definitely hormonal changes in men as they age. These problems include loss of libido and reduced ability of on-demand erections.
But despite all the medical debates, men aren't about to sit idle by while experts continue their debate - nor do they need to. The natural sexual enhancement market has a wide range of products aimed at bringing back some the youthful feeling to aging men. With all-natural herbal products, there is little risk in taking the problem into one's hands.
And the prize is the spark of life. To quote Nike's old slogan, "Just DO IT".
